Susan Shelley is the Vice President of Communications for the Howard Jarvis Tax Payers Association, the most influential taxpayer advocacy group in California. She often speaks on the topic of Proposition 13 which has been under continuous attack by the California State Legislature and will again in 2026. A petition will be available at the meeting to protect Prop 13 from repeal and change.
Susan is a columnist and editorial writer for the Southern California News Group, eleven daily papers including the Orange County Register and the L.A. Daily News. Susan's a frequent guest on Southern California radio and TV news and interview shows, and she's the co-host of the Howard Jarvis Podcast for KABC.
Susan is also the author of the novel "The 37th Amendment" and of a modern history of the Bill of Rights titled, "How the First Amendment Came to Protect Topless Dancing." She graduated from California State University Northridge with a B.A. in American history and went on to work for Merv Griffin Enterprises, where she was the Associate Producer of "Jeopardy!" before going on to be a full-time writer.
